About the Order
The current early August One Green World order is a small order for potted plants they have available now. These plants are available for pickup now.
I will be updating the website within a few weeks to prepare for the main, larger fall order. Keep an eye on the website or email me to be added to the mailing list for an announcement when we're ready for that order.
The last five years, we've coordinated wholesale orders from local plant nursery One Green World, distributing more than 1000 plants to different people at discounted prices! We're doing it again this year, inviting people in the Portland area to join in on a wholesale order. Here's how it works:
- You place your order and get payment to us (either via Paypal with an extra 3% fee, or by mailing in or delivering a check to us) by Sunday, August 8th, 2010.
- Specify in your order whether variety substitutions are OK, or if we should drop an item from your order if the variety you wanted isn't available.
- We'll pool all the orders and submit them to One Green World.
- One Green World will deliver to our house in NE Portland the second or third week of August.
- Once we know the exact delivery date, we'll email you to let you know when to come pick up your plants. We'll provide a window of time probably including an entire weekend, and can make special arrangements if you can't come during the main window.
- All plants for this early August order will be in pots. (No bareroot trees to worry about.)
To place a wholesale order, we need to have at least 5 of any given plant variety. For example, we'd need at least 5 people wanting the "Goldrush" apple, and another 5 wanting "Liberty" to order each of those varieties. It's possible we won't meet the minimum for a given item, in which case we'll contact you about substitutions.
Note that on this website, most of the plant listings are copied directly from One Green World's website. Occasionally we've added extra information, such as on pollination or size in cases where our research suggests different information than that One Green World provides.
If you have any questions about plant listings or how all this works, please email us!
Please do not contact One Green World directly with questions about or problems with completed orders unless you've already talked to me--I'm acting as a wholesale buyer and they don't like it when my "customers" go to their retail operation with order questions or problems.
